The Essex Conference Center & Retreat is The Ant & the Grashopper's preferred venue in the New England area. Located
on Cape Ann (just 45 minutes North of downtown Boston) this beautifully landscaped 18 acre property is less than a mile
from the ocean and is the perfect location for our innovative Team Building programs. Together The Essex Conference Center & Retreat
and The Ant & the Grasshopper offer all the facilities and services to help your group break down
barriers, improve communications, improve morale, facilitate team building, and have fun in the process.

Escape from Exile Island by building a boat out of cardboard!
- The Amazing Essex Race
A wild, fun, competitive hunt that has your group exploring the beauty of Cape Ann.
- Wok-Athon
A delicious team cooking program that gives your group a "taste of success"
- The Fisherman's Feast
The stories, music and culture of Gloucester fishermen come to life in this interactive, comedy dinner theater.
- Fire Circle Drumming
Group drumming in an inspirational, natural environment.
We also offer most of our other team building events, scavenger hunts and shows at this beautiful venue including
Yoga Stess Relief, Wine Tasting, Artistic Expression, the Wacky Olympics, and our world famous, ORIGINAL Spy School. To learn
